PEC RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO BE PROACTIVE WITH FLOODING SITUATION
5/19/2017 1:49:03 PM

Prince Edward County officials are urging residents to be proactive and take necessary precautions to protect their health, home and property from flooding. "The reality is that water is rising and it is expected to continue rising for the next several weeks" said Mayor Robert Quaiff. Pre-filled sandbags are available at 15 Coleman Street in Ameliasburgh and 115 Lake Street in Picton. Self-serve sand and sandbags are available at the Essroc Arena in Wellington. If you are self-sandbagging it's important to do it properly. A link to an instructional video is on our website. If you're worried about well contamination call Hastings and Prince Edward Health Unit. If you're worried about drinking water, bottled water is available at the Wellington Arena and the Picton Arena from 8am-8pm. Residents concerned about septic systems can use showers at the Wellington and Picton arenas.
