SOUTHVIEW STUDENTS PLANT TREES ON NEW SOCCER FIELD

Grade 4 and 7 students at Southview Public School have been busy planting various types of trees on their newly acquired green space. Together they planted over 100 native species to create a hedgerow of lilacs around Southview Public School's new soccer field as well as a forest of native trees and shrubs in one corner of the schoolyard. This forest will become their new outdoor classroom, which one student explained:


A lot of kids were eager to share what they learned during this experience:


And if you asked them if trees are important you would hear a resounding yes.
