A well-known Belleville Realtor is at it again after taking to a rooftop to raise funds and awareness for womens' shelters and transitional housing last winter. John-Ross Parks with Royal LePage is looking to raise $50,000 for local services by July 22 - the day he leaves for a six-day fundraising trek to Iceland with 90 agents across Canada as part of the company's shelter foundation. Parks is encouraging Facebook users to log onto the #icanrebuild page, learn about the cause and get involved:

He says community involvement is part of the culture at Royal LePage, adding that he was lucky to be raised by two strong women - his mother and grandmother.
Parks live streamed himself camping on the Royal LePage roof in downtown Belleville last November, starting out with only the essentials. Through online challenges, community donations to "buy" items for his survival and an online discussion around mental health, Parks raised $28,000 in support of the local Canadian Mental Health Foundation branch. 20% of proceeds from the trek support a national healthy relationships education program for teenagers.
