A Napanee woman has been convicted of animal cruelty after leaving her dog in a hot vehicle. The 57-year-old plead guilty in Napanee court and will have to pay a $250 fine. In May Napanee OPP received a call about an animal in distress inside a vehicle in downtown Napanee. The dog was panting heavily and trying to find shade under the seats. When the dog's owner couldn't be found, the responding officer gained entry to the vehicle and saved the dog.
