PEC RESIDENTS RALLYING AGAINST WIND TURBINE PROJECT
10/12/2017 7:01:16 AM

Prince Edward County residents are rallying together to stop a controversial project from following through. Canada's White Pines Wind Project involves erecting nine 500ft. industrial wind turbines in and around the hamlet of Milford, with some residents feeling the proposed project could disrupt the livelihoods of County residents. Logistics coordinator for the rally Les Stanfield, hopes that the rally "will motivate the government to cancel the project once and for all." He adds that participants should be creative in their messages to WPD and Queen's Park. Those wanting to participate in the rally can gather at the end of Cold Storage Road at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 for a 1 p.m. departure or join in at any point on the route through Main Street in Picton. An information session will be held at 2 p.m. inside the Regent Theatre. For more information, visit the Prince Edward County Field Naturalists' Facebook page.
