Quinte Conservation's Flood Outlook Statement for the Moira, Salmon, Napanee, and Prince Edward Watersheds remains in effect. The warmer temperatures this week should eliminate the formation of new frazil ice. But with the warmer temperature this week, combined with rain in the forecast, there is an increase in river flows, which could lead to ice breaking up and accumulating in the river systems. Ice jams are most common in narrowing river sections, bridges, bends, and below rapids. If residents see a sudden increase in water levels or formation of ice jams, they are being asked to contact Quinte Conservation. This message will be in effect until January 15th.
