ASPHALT THE BETTER WAY TO GO FOR COUNTY ROAD 4 3/9/2018 9:46:40 AM
Lennox and Addington County Council is looking at a complete overhaul of the concrete portion of County Rd. 4. The road is scheduled to be done in 2022-2024 in the 10 year capital plan. However the road will continue to be monitored closely and may need to be moved up in timing if it continues to deteriorate. Manager of Roads and Bridges with the County Chris Wagar recommends replacing the concrete with asphalt:
When meeting with Minister of Infrastructure, Bob Chiarelli at ROMA he suggested the County apply for funding under the OCIF top-up Component; which both the County and Town are eligible for following successful applications with the Diggin' Downtown Reconstruction project. Without funding, the financial impact would be $12-million dollars. Wagar says right now the county is spending, weather dependent, around $25 thousand dollars a year on general maintenance of the roadway.
