HOT MIX PAVING PROGRAM COMES IN OVER BUDGET

Lennox and Addington County has approved a bid for Hot Mix Paving this year. However, Councilor John Wise took note that the bid was more than county had budgeted:

He also says fuel and labor costs effect pricing as well:


The County will work with R. W. Tomlinson Ltd. at a cost of $4,891,163.86. County had budgeted $4,820,000 for 5 projects. The 2018 tender includes the following projects:
3.0 km of rural asphalt rehabilitation with paved shoulders on County Road 1 from the Hwy 401 overpass to County Road 18
3.8 km of rural asphalt rehabilitation with paved shoulders on County Road 2 from Shane Street to the Frontenac Boundary
1.4 km of urban asphalt rehabilitation on County Road 41 (Centre Street) from Isabella Street to Jim Kimmett Boulevard
0.7 km of urban asphalt rehabilitation on County Road 4 in Tamworth from Ball Park Drive to the Tamworth Bridge on Ottawa Street
0.6 km of urban and rural asphalt rehabilitation on County Road 15 in Tamworth from County Road 4 to Jones Street
