This is the time of year that a lot of people are disposing of their Christmas Trees. If you live in the Greater Napanee area want to make a difference, it may be worth considering donating your tree to Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. Leah Birmingham is the assistant director at the centre and she says the trees add comfort to the animals.
Birmingham goes on to explain how trees should be donated.
She did mention that they also accept wreaths and boughs as long as they are clean of wires, plastic wrap and other things that could prove to be a danger to the animals. Other donations they are in need of at this time are unsalted nuts, apples, sweet potatoes and even spring mix lettuce.
In 2019, Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre treated over 4800 animals at their facility, at this time Sandy Pines has over 100 patients in their care.
