Getting the vaccine is a good thing. However if you return from a trip to the United States, a 14 day quarantine is still mandatory according to Canada Border Services Agency. In a statement to myFM, Border Officials stated that having the vaccine does not replace the pre-arrival testing or quarantine requirements. Officials also say that Canadian citizens, dual citizens, permanent residents and persons registered under the Indian Act, are subject to enhanced screening and testing unless specifically exempted. Further details on travel restrictions can be found on our website.
Unless specifically exempted, all travellers entering Canada must isolate themselves for 14 days if they have symptoms of or confirmed COVID-19 or quarantine themselves for 14 days if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19. In addition, any individual five years of age and older travelling to Canada by land, unless specifically exempted, is required to provide a valid COVID-19 molecular test to the border services officer when they arrive at the land port of entry (POE). In Travellers arriving at the land border are also required to submit their information digitally via ArriveCAN and take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival as well as on day 10 of their 14-day quarantine.
