A Toronto man has been charged after police found him stopped in the middle of the road.
Lennox and Addington OPP were on patrol early Sunday morning when they observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of Deseronto Road with its four ways flashing.
Police located a confused person in the driver seat and investigation determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further processing by a Drug Recognition Expert Officer.
As a result, L&A County OPP have charged a 21-year-old from Toronto with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug, resist police officer, having control of a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available and, possession of unmarked cigarettes.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 18, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
