During last night’s town of Greater Napanee council meeting, an update was provided to council as to how Canada Day will be celebrated this year in town.
Brandt Zatterberg, general manager of community and corporate services, let council know what is going on.
The colouring page can be found on the Town of Greater Napanee website.
Elsewhere in the county, the Tamworth & District Lions Club are hosting a Drive Through BBQ to celebrate Canada Day. Everyone must remain in their vehicles throughout the drive through.
Start lining up on Bridge Street West Tamworth to head into the Tamworth Ball Park at 4:00 pm. You’re being asked to decorate your vehicle, spouse, children or pet for Canada Day. Prizes will be awarded.
There will be 50/50 tickets available from the Tamworth Skate Park Committee, a drop box where children can enter their picture in a contest. Children are encouraged to draw or paint a Canada Day themed picture and a prize will be awarded (You are asked to please ensure the child’s name and telephone number are on the picture.), as well as photo area where decorated vehicles and occupants will have their photo taken for the Lions contest. There will be a prize awarded for the most festive looking vehicle/occupants.
Your vehicle will then proceed to the Lions BBQ, where you will be served ice cold drinks, and a hamburger or hot dog. The Lions will have a donation bin for cash donations.
