Kingston Police have laid additional charges following a shooting last week.
A 20-year-old Toronto area male had been originally charged with second degree murder and probable firearms related charges following an investigation into a murder of a 43 year old Kingston man. Kingston Police were called to the scene at around 9:30am near Fergus and Concession Street on August 12th. The victim was located at a Fergus Street residence and had succumbed to his injuries. The accused was located nearby and arrested and taken to police headquarters.
Through further investigation police learned the victim and accused knew each other, as well that the accused had also discharged his firearm at another individual inside the residence prior to fleeing from the scene on foot.
The 20-year-old from Ajax now faces additional charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm with the intent to wound, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and being an unlicenced person in possession of a restricted weapon.
The investigation is still ongoing and police ask anyone with more information to contact Kingston police.
