There were many important topics discussed at the all candidates meeting hosted by the Napanee and District Chamber of Commerce.
Last night candidates were asked questions about helping small businesses bounce back and flourish, maintaining and growing women’s reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ rights, secure internet, affordable housing and more.
On the topic of small businesses bouncing back, Liberal candidate Mike Bossio had this to say.
Conservative candidate Shelby Kramp-Neuman says if elected, she will represent everyone in this riding regardless ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
When asked, before politics, how the candidates have helped the H-L&A community, independent Jennifer Sloan had this to say.
Green candidate and former farmer Reg Wilson had this to say when a questions was asked from the Local Federation of Agriculture about where parties stand on policies to support a return to local/regional processing.
When the topic of secure internet cam up, People’s Party of Canada candidate James Babcock joked this was an important cause to him, as for much for the rural area, his internet access sucks.
New Democratic Party candidate Maltilda DeBues was unable to attend the event, but a representative was on hand to read an opening letter from DeBues.
