This week has been Ontario Garlic week, and did you know there is a farm that grows garlic locally?
myFM spoke with Dan McClure of McClure Eats near Bath, about how much garlic they grew this year.
The McClure garlic stays local. what he doesn’t sell he uses in preserves and tomato sauces.
The garlic planting will begin sometime next week McClure says. It will then lay under a bed of manure for the winter and start to grow in the spring.
Food and beverage establishments across the province are celebrating Ontario garlic with local garlic farmers during the inaugural Ontario Garlic Week. Restaurants, chocolatiers, breweries, theatres and drive-ins are preparing the best they have to offer to celebrate the universally loved bulb.
Garlic lovers across the province will find a nearby location with the online Garlic map at www.torontogarlicfestival.ca.
