For the first time in two year, the Napanee and District Chamber of Commerce held their annual general meeting in-person last night, April 28, 2022.
This year’s guest speaker was Greater Napanee CAO John Pinsent, who said he thinks the goals of the chamber are similar to the goals of the town, in terms of fostering the growing community, making Napanee a better place to live.
Chamber president Ken Shurtliffe highlighted some great accomplishments from the last year, including meetings around COVID-19 and homelessness in the community, in 2021 their annual golf tournament made a return for the first time since 2015, they launched their business relief fund, the business awards were held, and the jewel in their crown Shurtliffe says was that the chamber was able to secure $70,000 in finding for a shop local campaign.
