Since Public Health’s last COVID-19 report on Thursday, May 19, the KFL&A region has seen one new death due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 59 in the region.
Today’s update shows there are now 13 local cases in hospital, with three in the ICU and one on a ventilator.
Public Health also reported 83 new high risk cases of COVID-19 since their last report, bringing the number of high risk cases to 373.
KFL&A Public Health’s Outbreak tab identifies an active outbreak at the John M. Parrot Centre, which was declared the 30th of April. There is an active outbreak at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview, which was declared on May 21st. There is also an active outbreak at the Riverine Retirement Home in Napanee, that was declared on May 4th. Public Health COVID-19 dashboard does not report the number of cases associated with an outbreak as they report case counts are no longer accurate due to the changes in testing.
As of this afternoon, 92.9% of individuals 5 and over in KFL&A have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 89.4% have received their second. 69.5% of those 18 and over have received a three doses.
