A local athlete will be dedicating her fifth Ironman competition to a local cause doing great work in our community.
myFM spoke with Casey Kidson-Reid, who told us of her Ironman coming up July 10th.
Along the way funds will be raising for the Napanee Community Kitten Rescue. She explains why.
There is a goal in place to raise $10 per kilometer.
Casey says what makes this fundraiser unique is that she has a rare Neurological condition, Myoclonus Dystonia, which causes involuntary muscle contractions and twitches. She absolutely loves competing and will continue to do so as long as she can, however, each of these three events presents extra challenges for her as a result of her condition.
