Hydro One is reporting a number of power outages across southern Ontario today, including a patchwork of issues in the Greater Napanee area where just under 25,000 customers are without electricity.
The outage is currently affecting Napanee, Marysville, Odessa, Amherst Island and the entire peninsula along Lake Ontario south of Belleville.
The good news is the power company expects the outage to be fixed by noon today, according to their latest estimates.
Hydro One has been dealing with a number of isolated incidents over the past few days, citing strong winds and thunderstorms in recent forecasts as potential causes.
myFM has reached out to Hydro One. While they haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause of the outage, they have confirmed that their crews are currently investigating the problem and are working to find a solution as soon as possible.
UPDATE 10:15am: Hydro One now tells myFM that power for the affected area in and around Greater Napanee will return at 4:00pm today.
