As temperatures continue to drop, United Way KFL&A is continuing to help keep community members warm. Their annual coat collection drive is underway, and they’re in need of your help.
The United Way began collecting winter clothing since the pandemic began. The coats are distributed to their agencies who them give them to those in need.
myFM spoke with United Way KFL&A President and CEO, Bhavana Varma, who told us what these jackets mean to those who receive them.
They are accepting donations of gently used or new jackets.
They are accepting all sizes, but larger sizes are in greater demand.
Coats can be donated throughout the KFL&A region at our local public libraries
Monetary donations are also being accepted. All of the funds raised will go towards the purchases of jackets from local retailers.
For more information of you make a donation, you can visit the United Way’s website.
