Community members are being invited to public information sessions for the development of a Community Hub in Loyalist Township
It was recently announced that the Government of Canada is investing over $16.5 million in funding to retrofit the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre.
Key facility upgrades included in the conceptual design include accessibility upgrades, the Aquatics Facility, Legacy Space, and Green Infrastructure.
“Loyalist Township wants to engage with residents on this valuable recreational and community space,” stated Loyalist Township Mayor, Jim Hegadorn. “The W. J. Henderson Recreation Centre has served Loyalist Township and surrounding communities for over 40 years and this renewal project will modernize the facility, restore, and enhance aquatic services and improve facility accessibility for everyone. Please come out on January 16th to become informed and provide feedback on this important Community Hub Project. Residents unable to attend can also provide their feedback via a survey which will be open from January 3rd-27th.”
Information sessions will be taking place at the W. J. Henderson Recreation Centre on January 16th from noon to 3pm, then again from 5-8pm.
Community members are encouraged to review the conceptual designs, ask questions, and to offer feedback.
