Enbridge Gas Inc., the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council and Greater Napanee Fire Department are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.
204 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms were given to Greater Napanee Fire to hand out to the public for free as part of Safe Community Project Zero.
Steve Rogers, Operation Manager with Enbridge Gas, who says they have invested $250,000 in Safe Community Project Zero this year.
Greater Napanee is one of 50 municipalities across Ontario that will receive these combination alarms.
myFM spoke with Interim Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Duncan, who says the program is going very well so far.
The Greater Napanee Fire Department is also using this as an opportunity to educate the community on the importance of having these alarms.
Residents can come by Greater Napanee Fire Department stations at the following times to pick up their free alarms:
- 66 Advance Avenue Napanee – Now until January 31st from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- 2956 South Shore Road Napanee – Saturday January 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- 3264 County Road 41 Roblin – Saturday January 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m
