The Special Weather Statement by Environment Canada remains in place for Greater Napanee and the surrounding area today. We could see heavy rains today with around 15 to 25 millimeters expected. High winds are also in the forecast between 70 to 90km/h with a risk of freezing rain. A reminder that high winds can toss loose objects and flooding could occur in many areas due to poor drainage. Rainfall is expected to begin this morning and run through this evening.
Locally dense fog has developed prompting a Fog Advisory to be put into place. With temperatures below the freezing mark, the fog may deposit ice onto untreated surfaces. Some roads and walkways may become slippery as a result. Fog is expected to lift late this morning.
