More smoke from the wildfires has moved into our region and Environment Canada’s Air Quality Statement remains in effect.
High levels of pollution are in the air from the forest fires in Quebec and Ontario, resulting in deteriorating air quality.
KFL&A Public Health encourages you to stop or reduce your activity level if breathing becomes uncomfortable or you or someone in your care feel unwell. Also, be sure to check on people in your care and those around you who may be more susceptible to smoke.
Try to keep your pets indoors as much as possible when the air quality is poor. This will help reduce their exposure to pollutants and irritants in the air. And ensure your pets have access to clean and fresh water at all times.
Conditions are expected to improve for some areas today or tomorrow, Friday.
