It was a beautiful afternoon as new lifesaving equipment was unveiled to the public at the Sports Complex on York Road in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Health Nurse Brittany told the crowd the community health pads program has been working to make AED’s (automated external defibrillator) more accessible in the community.
This new AED is located where a lot of the community spend their summer playing baseball and different sports, and it’s also centrally located to many homes in the community.
This AED is mobile and can be taken off site to wherever an emergency may be taking place.
They chose this specific model as it is very user friendly.
Their goal now is to share with the community that it is here and available, and to make more available down the line.
