The Napanee Salvation Army is helping to make sure area students start the school year with the keys for success.
They have partnered up with the United Way of KFL&A to help collect items for the Backpack Program.
myFM spoke with Abby Mills, Salvation Army Director of Community Ministries.
In 2022, over 300 local students benefitted from this program.
Mills tells us that having the necessary items to gives to families is a big part of ensuring that kids have a good education that sets them up for success in life.
The Salvation Army’s involvement in the Backpack Program looks a little different this year.
The supplies needed most include backpacks, lunch bags, pens, pencils, rulers, math sets, markers, crayons, scientific calculators, and pencil cases.
Anyone interested in donating can drop off their donations at the Salvation Army’s office at 81 Dairy Ave. in Napanee.
