A Journey of Remembrance and Unity passed through Greater Napanee Thursday afternoon.
This is a three day, 575-kilometre bike ride featuring 74 firefighters from southern and eastern Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland.
They’re raising both funds and awareness for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
myFM spoke with Ride Coordinator and President of the Toronto Fire Celtic Society, David Cossitt.
Their ride began Wednesday in Hamilton and will end today in Ottawa at the National Firefighters Memorial.
The Napanee Fire department welcomed them with open arms, providing an escort into and out of our municipality, and a quick pitstop at the fire station before they hit the road again towards Kingston.
Cossitt told us this ride means a lot to him and the other 73 riders.
Donations can be made at CelticFireRide.ca, where supporters can pick a rider to contribute towards.
