Now that kids are back in school, OSPCA’s across the province, including the Lennox and Addington Animal Centre, are looking forward to visiting our schools with its AnimalSmart™ humane education program.
But before they can do that, they’re looking for some volunteers to join them!
myFM spoke with Kiersten Bell, L&A OSPCA Community Outreach Coordinator, who told us in honour of their 150th anniversary, they’ve set a goal to recruit 50 new volunteers this month.
Bell tells us you don’t have to be an educator to join the humane education team. Training consists of one-on-one training, as well as tagging along on presentations to get that practice.
Visit animalsmart.ca to learn more about becoming a volunteer.
