Are you a music lover? Why not attend the first of the four afternoon concerts of the Quinte Symphony on October 29th, 2023, called the “Controller’s Concerto”.
Founded in 1960 as the Eastern Ontario Concert Orchestra and in the 1990s becoming the Quinte Symphony, they perform live orchestral music in the Quinte region with world-class performers such as the Sultans of String, Eduard Minevich and Anton Kuerti. The symphony has also featured home-grown talent such as soprano Elizabeth McDonald, the Belleville Choral Society, Donna Bennett, and Steven Belanger.
President of the Quinte Symphony Board of Directors Nancy Lewis told us about the make-up of the orchestra.
Audio Player“We have 30 to 40 musicians playing in our concerts,” said Lewis. “Our musicians live to the West as far as Oshawa, to the north in Havelock, south in Prince Edward County and as far east as Kingston.”
