On April 10th, 2003, the Town of Greater Napanee signed a Facility Naming Rights Agreement lasting ten years with the Roman Corporation Limited. It was later renewed for another decade starting September 1st, 2014. The value of those Naming Rights has been $20,000 per year since September 1st, 2004.
Councillor Michael Schenk asked to clarification the price increase.
Napanee Mayor Terry Richardson and Annie Manion confirmed an increase of $10,000 per year.
The aim of this agreement and the Draft Donations and Sponsorships Policy is to ensure fair access to sponsorship opportunities, maximize revenue sources, comply with laws, distinguish between donations and sponsorships, and ensure a positive impact on the community while considering future costs to the Town.
Council voted to note and receive the report and to issue the RFP as presented.
Expect more to come from these discussions in the new year.
