myFM spoke with Dr. Piotr Oglaza, KFL&A Medical Officer of Health, who told us it’s not recommended to look at the eclipse directly without proper eye wear.
To prevent that damage, there’s a very specific type of eye protection.
The Town of Greater Napanee will have a limited number of eclipse glasses available day of at their event. As well, all Lennox and Addington Library branches will have a limited number available at all library branches for library card holders.
Though pandemic restrictions have lifted, there are still some concerns when it comes to gathering in large groups, especially with an increase in cases globally of measles.
You can learn more about eclipse safety on Public Health’s website.
