Youth Diversion is celebrating 50 years of being dedicated to helping children, youth, and families in KFL&A and Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
Founded in 1974 as the Frontenac Diversion Program, it offers prevention, intervention, and educational services, evolving to include mentoring and more. Despite challenges like the Young Offenders Act, it has persisted with community support.
Director Shawn Quigley highlights the vital role of staff and volunteers, who have been instrumental in the organization’s success. Their impact, though often unnoticed, has reached over 15,000 community members through workshops and initiatives.
On August 15, 2024, to mark their 50th anniversary, Youth Diversion will host a Celebration Dinner, aiming to raise $50,000 for the “Kids Can’t Wait” Prevention Fund. To donate or inquire about sponsorship, contact Youth Diversion.
