The cloverbud's learning about pollination at Wynns
Cloverbuds is a year-round program designed for children aged 6-8, aiming to introduce them to the enjoyable experiences offered by 4-H Ontario. It maintains the hands-on learning approach of traditional 4-H while tailoring activities to be fun and captivating for younger participants.
Volunteer leader Laura Gibbons shared that the program gives all children the chance to learn about where their food comes from and how to participate in their community.
Laura says she and the cloverbud’s get up to everything, whether it’s a farm visit, or a project planting flowers.
The young kids also have a chance to learn about new technology and robotics being used on the farms. In some cases, it sparks an interest in the youth who may then go on to learn how to fix and enhance this technology in post-secondary education.
