The Ontario government is investing $387,200 to improve mental health and addiction care accessibility in rural and underserved areas of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. This funding will support a mobile community-based withdrawal management clinic, bringing specialized services directly to those in need, where and when they need it.
This investment is part of the government’s $124 million commitment over three years to continue the Addictions Recovery Fund, ensuring ongoing access to enhanced specialized services for mental health and addictions treatment.
The mobile clinic will provide convenient access to withdrawal management services, reducing the need for people to travel. It will coordinate with existing programs provided by the Canadian Mental Health Association Hastings Prince Edward (CMHA HPE), such as community case management and psychotherapy.
The operation of the mobile clinic will be overseen by CMHA HPE, which provides a range of community-based services for people with mental health and substance use challenges in the region. The clinic aims to meet the unique needs of the communities it serves.
