It is Napanee Home Furniture Seeds of Success; a look at leaders in the local agricultural sector…fueled by Kubota.
Today we are looking at Equestrian.
Second Chance Ranch is an animal sanctuary in Odessa. Darren Pruner originally bought the property to house horses for his wife and daughter, but the ranch has since grown into a full-scale rescue center after people started suggesting “you have so much space, you should take in these animals.” The sanctuary now cares for many animals, including horses, chickens and other rescued creatures.
Every day, the ranch runs smoothly thanks to two shifts of volunteers. Starting at 6:30 AM, volunteers feed the animals, giving extra grain to those who need it. Visitors can then tour the farm by appointment during the day, and at 3 PM, the feeding routine begins again.
Second Chance Ranch provides a loving, forever home to animals that come from challenging circumstances, such as families facing loss or individuals lacking the knowledge to care for their pets. Pruner shared he finds it incredibly rewarding to know that they are making a difference in these animals’ lives.
