The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a deadly head-on collision on Old Highway 2 near Quinte View Drive in Quinte West. The crash occurred on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, around 3:45 p.m. and involved a car and a pick-up truck.
The collision claimed the lives of the car’s 26-year-old driver from Stirling and a 5-year-old boy. The 33-year-old driver of the pick-up truck, from Belleville, was transported to the hospital by Hastings-Quinte paramedics. His injuries have not been disclosed.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist are working with Quinte West OPP to determine the cause of the accident. The highway was closed for six hours during the investigation.
