Loyalist Township is gearing up for major projects in 2025 after a busy year of accomplishments.
Mayor Jim Hegadorn highlighted key achievements from 2024, including the launch of a civic awards program, a new transit pilot, and infrastructure upgrades in Odessa.
The township also made progress on the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre and the Amherst Islander II ferry entered service.
Despite a pause on the Umicore plant project, the township remains hopeful for updates.
Looking ahead, major projects include finalizing the ward boundary review, traffic calming measures, and completing the Fairfield-Gutzeit House restoration. Work also continues at the recreation centre.
Fire services are also expanding, with 20 new recruits completing training this year.
With infrastructure improvements, community engagement, and growth on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be another big year for Loyalist Township.
