The Napanee Raiders are in first place in the East Tod division about back-to-back wins this weekend.
On Saturday, January 25th, the Raiders hosted an afternoon game against Port Hope. Napanee took a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals by Spencer Cranley and Ben White. The Raiders secured their lead with a third goal late in the second period by Trent Williams. During the third period, Napanee dominated in the first half doubling up their score with goals by Ethan Boutilier and Trent Williams scoring twice more to get the hat trick. Port Hope then scored their loan goal on the night for a 6-1 Raiders win.
On Sunday, January 26th, the Raiders hit the road to play the Trent Hills Thunder. First period saw Napanee take a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Andrew Carr and Michael Patrick. The second period say Andrew Carr score his second of the night for a 3-0 lead before Trent Hills scored their first of the night to make it 3-1. Spencer Cranley solidified the Raiders lead with their fourth goal of the night in the third period which the Thunder quickly answered with their second. From there, Jackson Barnes and Michael Patrick would all score to lead the Raiders to a 6-2 win!
The Napanee Raiders are sitting in first place in the East Tod Division standings with a 27-7-1-1 record and 56 points. They were tied with the Frankford Huskies (27-8 record and 54 points), who are now two points behind them. Close behind Frankford is Picton (51 Points), Lakefield (47 points), Amherstview (46 points), Port Hope (24 points), Trent Hills (16 points), and North Kawartha (6 points).
The Raiders are back in action Friday, January 31st at home against Picton at 7:30pm. Then on Saturday, February 1st they’re on the road against Port Hope at 7:30pm.
