It’s President’s Club Day presented by Napanee Home Furniture and Appliances. Today we’re featuring Brian Calver…President of the Napanee District Rod and Gun Club.
The Napanee Rod and Gun Club, founded in the early 1970s, continues to thrive in Napanee, with over 600 members. Offering a variety of outdoor activities like target shooting, fishing, and hunting, the club has long been a hub for outdoor enthusiasts.
For the past 24 years, the club has been led by President Brian Calver, who, alongside his wife Monique, Secretary-Treasurer, has seen the club grow and strengthen its ties with the community. As someone who was “adopted” into the club and was taught the ropes, Calver feels it’s important to mentor the younger generations, and pass on their outdoor skills.
The club is known for its fundraising dinners, which have raised thousands of dollars for local organizations, including sports teams and schools. Additionally, the club runs a fish hatchery at Springside Park, helping to restore local fisheries by releasing millions of fish.
Those interested in learning more can visit the club’s website or contact them directly.
