This Saturday, February 22nd, is the Coldest Night of the Year! Again this year, the walk will start and finish at Trinity United Church in Napanee. This annual walk aims to raise funds to help those who are hurt, homeless and hungry.
myFM spoke with Lynda Carney, who told us the excitement is building as they get closer and closer to their $100,000 goal. As the time we’re publishing this, they’ve raised over $75,000! They’re still hopeful they can raise the final $25,000 before Saturday.
And don’t worry, it’s not to late to take part! Carney says they’ll accept walkers up until sendoff.
Fund can also continue to be donated online for a few weeks after the event.
Money raised locally goes to support the Morningstar Mission and their many services they provide for those in need.
They’d also like to thank the number of wonderful sponsors who’ve joined this year to support this years event: Peter Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC -Lead Sponsor, Mackay Insurance – Rest Stop Sponsor, Kawartha Credit Union – Route Sponsor, Canadian Tire Napanee – Route Sponsor, L & A Mutual – Route Sponsor, BrokerLink – Community Sponsor, UCB Radio 102.3 – Media Sponsor, McDonald’s Restaurants – Goods and Services, Jamie & Jaclyn’s No Frills – Goods and Services, Diamond Fitness MMA – Goods and Services.
