After years of anticipation, the Gibbard District condo project in Napanee is making visible progress, with developers confident that residents will move in within the year.
myFM spoke with Nate Doornekamp, vice president of Doornekamp Construction Ltd., who said the project is moving ahead smoothly, with major exterior work now underway. Glass and facade installations are starting from the seventh floor down.
The project has faced delays in past years in part due to inflation and fluctuating material costs. DoorneKamp says they now have things under control, even in this political climate.
Early buyers continue to support the project, and Doornekamp believes interest will grow as the buildings take shape.
It’s expected the first residents will be moving in February 2026.
The Doornekamp family expressed gratitude for the strong support from local businesses, residents, and the municipality, saying it has helped the project stay on track.
