
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers charged three drivers with impaired driving over a three-day period in Lennox and Addington County.
On March 15, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle swerving on Highway 401 near Palace Road. The driver, 43-year-old Shahid Iqbal from Toronto, was arrested and charged with impaired driving by alcohol.
On March 17, just after 7:00 p.m., police responded to a crash on Bridge Street in Greater Napanee, where a vehicle hit a hydro pole. The driver, 82-year-old Victor Abrams from Napanee, was charged with alcohol impairment.
Later that night, at 10:00 p.m., police found a suspicious stopped vehicle in Addington Highlands. The driver, 73-year-old Pamela Bennett from Belleville, was charged with drug impairment.
All three had their licences suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded. They will appear in court on April 8, 2025.
