It’s official! The Napanee Raiders are set to take on the Frankford Huskies in the East Tod Division Final. The Frankford huskies move on after a 4-2 game 7 win last night against the Lakefield Chiefs.
The Raiders are coming off an exciting semifinal series against their L&A Rivals, the Amherstview Jets.
Head coach Ben Hagerman told myFM they’re feeling happy with the outcome and also relieved that they came out on top. The Jets started the series with a 2-0 lead with the Raiders going on a 4 game win streak to advance.
When looking to their next opponent, Hagerman told myFM Frankford finished first in the division for a reason.
He went on to say the team is going to have to be well rounded to compete with them, noting penalty kills need to be sharp and work very defensively.
It means a lot to the players, and to Hagerman as a former Raider himself, to see the fans out in full force every home game to cheer them on.
A schedule for their series against Frankford has yet to be announced. As soon as we know more we will let you know.
If you’re unable to attend any game this season, tune in to 88.7 myFM game time for live play-by-play coverage with Trevor Struthers.
