Employer Day of Action at Trent Port Marina
The Centre for Workforce Development (CFWD) has launched its 2025 Local Labour Market Plan (LLMP) during the Employer Day of Action event at Trent Port Marina. The plan aims to address major job shortages in healthcare, policing, skilled trades, and other key industries across Hastings, Prince Edward, and Lennox & Addington Counties.
CFWD warns that U.S. tariffs could impact the local economy but remains optimistic with strategies to strengthen workforce growth. The plan highlights solutions like expanded healthcare training, recruiting over 100 police officers in the next four years, and meeting labour demands for CFB Trenton’s $850M expansion.
Businesses are urged to participate in CFWD’s online Employer Day of Action Survey to help shape workforce strategies. As an incentive, survey participants will be entered into a $500 cash prize draw on April 18, 2025.
