The John M. Parrott Centre (JMPC) is launching a three-year plan to improve care for its residents by adopting the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Clinical Pathways.
The initiative, which began Tuesday, aims to ensure all staff – from nurses to doctors to support workers – follow a consistent, high-quality approach to care. JMPC will conduct a gap analysis to compare its current practices with evidence-based standards and make improvements where needed.
The first phase, called the “Foundation” stage, focuses on setting up new assessments and care pathways before expanding to other areas.
JMPC is one of about 200 long-term care homes in Ontario taking part in the Clinical Pathways program. Lennox and Addington County Warden Nathan Townend says the goal is to “bridge the gap for better outcomes” for residents, families and caregivers.
JMPC says the project will help maintain its commitment to providing top-quality, person-centred care.
