Scammers double down: How fraud victims are being tricked twice

It’s Fraud Prevention Month and we are taking each day this week to highlight a specific scam targeting people in the province.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice – that’s what this scam is hoping to do.

OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk spoke with us about a unique tactic where people will contact people who were previously scammed saying they can help.

They’ll be sympathetic, saying they want to help.

Tomorrow, 88.7 myFM will be highlighting another scam to keep residents informed.
