Hydro One is set to carry out tree and vegetation maintenance along distribution lines in Greater Napanee throughout 2025. The work aims to prevent power outages, improve safety, and allow emergency crews easier access to power lines.
Tree-related issues cause about 30% of power outages in Ontario. By removing hazardous trees and pruning branches near power lines, Hydro One hopes to reduce the risk of service interruptions.
Crews will use chainsaws, pruners, bucket trucks, and chippers where needed. In areas with heavy brush, mechanical equipment may also be used. If tree removal is required on private property, Hydro One will attempt to contact the owner before proceeding. Any wood from removed trees will remain on-site.
Residents with questions can contact Hydro One for more details. The company thanks the community for its patience as crews complete this essential work.
