A flood outlook has been issued for inland lakes and watercourses in the Quinte Conservation Watershed, due to the precipitation the region saw over the weekend.
Temperatures will be rising above 10°C by Monday afternoon, which will cause snowmelt in the region. Watercourses and lakes have already peaked from the spring snowmelt, but conditions remain elevated, and soil is too saturated to absorb additional rainfall.
This storm could lead to faster-than-usual rising water levels. If the precipitation is mainly rain, levels could reach bankfull by mid-week. Localized flooding is possible, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Residents in these areas are urged to monitor water levels and take precautions to protect their property.
