The Lennox and Addington Chamber of Commerce held their 12th annual Business Excellence Awards Gala Thursday night at the Best and Bash Arena in Napanee. The Chamber shared they had once of their biggest crowns yet, with businesses from all area’s of Lennox and Addington County in attendance, and local dignitaries from all levels of government.
Award recipients include Oliver Tahamtan (Youth Employee of the Year), Greystone Gift Shoppe & Cafe (Hospitality Award), Move Bettwe Health & Performance (Workplace Wellness Award), Econorent Equipment Rentals & Sales (New Business Award), Kimmett’s Tree Service (Skilled Trades Award), Salvage Garden (Customer Service Award – Small Business), Touch of Wellness (Customer Service Award – Medium Business), County of Lennox and Addington (Customer Service Award – Large Business), Lakeview Tavern (Milestone Award), Red Tree Developments (Social Impact Award), Amherst Island General Store (Community Beautification Award), and Topsy Farms (Lennox and Addington Chamber of Commerce Award).
New award this year, the Committee’s Choice Award, which went to Adam Prudhomme, owner and editor of The Napanee Beaver. This award was created after there were too many nominees who fit the criteria for one award, and the committee still wanted to recognize Prudhomme for his dedication to the community.
He told myFM this award was a big surprise.
Audio PlayerPrudhomme recently celebrated one year since taking over as owner, as well as editor for the local paper, maintaining it’s local ties. He shared it was a big undertaking to take it on, but to have the community’s support was definitely encouraging.
