The Napanee Raiders are heading back to the Schmalz Cup Semi Finals for the first time since 2019. The same year they last won the cup.
The Raiders are coming off an exciting sweep of the Clarington Eagles, and are so grateful for the support they continue to receive from the community,
Head Coach Ben Hagerman told myFM that after the final buzzer in game four, many were overwhelmed with emotions, thinking back to last year’s tough series against Clarington. He said 13 players returned this season determined to avenge that loss. But looking back on that bus ride back to Napanee, Hagerman says it’s some of his most joyous memories in hockey.
Audio PlayerMany are calling Raiders goalie Logan Vale MVP of this series, as he made 128 saves on 134 shots on goal over the four game sweep. He told myFM it’s a great feeling.

Vale told myFM it was a pretty fun experience having those Raiders fans there cheering them on in game 4 in Clarington.
Audio PlayerHe shared it’s incredible walking into the rink and seeing that many fans in attendance. His favourite part being the little kids looking for their autographs and sticks, which is something he says not every team gets to experience. Vale and his family are also very appreciative for the supportive messages they receive from the fans,
Audio PlayerWe should know their next schedule for the Schmalz Cup Semi Finals sometime this week.
